What is Mare of Aquia?

Mare of Aquia is an Award Winning Boat Dealership that is the Mid Atlantic's Bass Boat Headquarters located in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Mare Incorporated was established in 1968 in Frederick, Maryland as part of the Kinsey Company.

The name MARE is an acronym for Marine And Recreational Equipment; the name was changed by one of the previous owners because it was to long for a business card.

On Halloween night 1988, Brian and Chris Lancaster with The Pedersen family, parents of Chris, purchased Mare Incorporated from the Reed family. Brian and Chris had been Bass Boat customers at Mare Incorporated before purchasing the business. Mare of Aquia opened in 1998. What is our Job?

Fishing and Boating is all about having fun with your family and friends, it is the job of every Mare of Aquia employee to keep it as fun, hassle free and enjoyable for you as possible.

Your sales experience at MARE will be handled by salesman who are experienced boaters; we have salesman that fish Bass Tournaments, fish for Small Mouth Bass from River Jet Boats and fish Saltwater Flats. Mare of Aquia is proud that we have salesman that are experts in every field that we offer products for.

Our salesman will use their expert knowledge of our product lines to ensure that you get all the information you need. They will also help lead you in the correct direction based on your needs and their knowledge. Our expert sales staff will keep you from making the wrong choices that may waste your money or even worse cause you stress later on.

Your service experience at MARE will be handled by Factory Certified technicians that have years of knowledge with all the product lines that MARE offers. Our goal is to get you back on the water as soon as possible so you can enjoy your boat. MARE has a large parts and accessories department and part vendors that are in close proximity.

This means you get your parts quickly so you can go fishing and boating.
